How to Reset iPhone
If your iPhone has a problem, you may wonder how to reset it. There are two options – a simple restart, or a more serious ‘Force Restart’, as Apple refers to it. The easiest option is to hold the power button and wait 30 seconds, then press the power button to turn the phone back on.
Force restart
If you’re having trouble using your iPhone and want to force restart it, there are a couple of ways to do it. First, locate the power button on the right side of the iPhone. Once you do, you should see a slider on the screen that says’slide to power off.’ Drag this slider and the iPhone will power off. Then, press and hold the side button and the volume down button together for a few seconds. This should produce the Apple logo.
If you’re using an iPhone 7, you can perform this process without the use of a computer. To do this, simply hold the side button and the volume down button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.
Hard reset
If your iPhone is not responding or has problems that cannot be solved by software updates, you might need to perform a Hard Reset. However, this process should be carried out only when your device is completely unresponsive and you have run out of other options. If you have an iPhone without a Home button, you can use the volume up and down buttons simultaneously to force a hard reset.
Before you begin the process, you should back up any important information on your iPhone. To back up your iPhone, you can use the ‘Restore iPhone’ option in iTunes. After you complete the restore process, the software to perform a hard reset will start downloading. Once you’ve backed up all your data, you can continue the process to remove unwanted files and restore the iPhone to its default settings.
If the problem persists, you can try a hard reset on an older iPhone model. Earlier versions of the iPhone still had a Home button. Press and hold the Home button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears and the Apple logo appears on the screen. After the iPhone has been restarted, you can check whether it works properly or not.
Factory reset
Before factory reset for iPhone, you should make a backup of your data. Once you have done this, you should also remove all accounts and passwords from your iPhone. Then, open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap on General > Reset. Now, you’ll be asked to enter a PIN code or an Apple ID password. Entering these will disable the Find My service. After you have done this, the screen will turn dark. You’ll then see a progress bar with an Apple logo. Once it’s done, you can reconnect your iPhone.
Factory reset is often recommended for iPhone users who are experiencing serious software issues. These can include problems connecting to networks, failing apps, and corrupted files. By resetting the iPhone to its original state, you can resolve most software problems.
